Bunionette or Tailor’s Bunion

Like a bunion, but on the outside of the foot just behind the 5th toe.

May be inherited or due to increased weight or activity, low arches Symptoms: Pain and swelling of the 5th (outside) metatarsophalangeal joint. Drifting of the pinky toe towards the other toes.

Wearing wide shoes and protective pads (orthotics) can ease the pressure, but surgery is often required to correct the bunionette formation.  The procedure used varies with your age, as well as, the amount and type of deformity.
